TU Delft MDP Student Collaboration on Field Research in Bac Lieu

As part of the ongoing collaboration between the Institute of Coastal and Offshore Engineering (ICOE) and Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), a multidisciplinary group of graduate students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management participated in a field research program in southern Vietnam.

The program combined academic activities at ICOE with field investigations in Bac Lieu Province, where students conducted field measurements and engaged with local communities and government authorities. The activities focused on understanding the interactions between social, economic, and hydraulic factors influencing coastal development and management.

Working alongside ICOE researchers, the students gained hands-on experience in interdisciplinary research methods, stakeholder engagement, and field data collection. The program strengthened academic collaboration between the two institutions while providing valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities of sustainable coastal management in the Mekong Delta.
